Opening day for Twin Cities golf

A few Twin Cities golf courses are now open.

Notables : Mississippi Dunes (Cottage Grove); Oak Marsh (Oakdale) and the range is now open at Gopher Hills (Cannon Falls).

Tomorrow, March 17: Highland National range opens at 10 a.m.; Loggers Trail and about five others in … (Stillwater); Rum River Hills (Anoka)

Front nine at Theodore Wirth opens March 18 as does Phalen (no range) at 9 a.m.

Complete updated list can be found here.

Calling around to a few courses, there are reports of standing water, snow and even ice still. So be prepared for a lot of lift-clean-and-place.

Good rule of thumb is that you can mark you ball and move it to dry ground within a clublength, no nearer to the hole. Or in our case, wherever you feel you won’t be doused with mud.
